For schools and educators

The European Youth Parliament is one of the most transformative non-formal educational projects your students can experience. Teachers regularly report favourably on the academic, political, social and emotional impacts participating has on their students’ educational and personal growth.

Your role as an educator

Teachers play a vital role in supporting their students before, during and after EYP sessions. For instance, when our UK-wide National Events take place, students will have the chance to be selected to be able to take part in International Sessions of the EYP. Besides organisational matters, this can include assisting students with topic choices, overall preparedness as well as coaching on public speaking, voice projection and personal presence.

On this page, you can also find our Teacher Guide to EYP, which has been put together at network-level by teachers who appreciated the impact of EYP on their students, so much so that they have remained consistently involved for several years. The guide is useful for bringing EYP to the classroom and supporting your students at EYP events.

We are always keen to form and sustain good relationships with our schools and teachers, and always welcome their feedback. We also make sure that our flagship events include a Teachers’ Programme over the course of the session, giving us an opportunity to explain how our organisation works in depth and to thank them directly.
